Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police Confirm

Police stated they were alerted by a individual who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Around fifty cars have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a statement.

Police say they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then discovered many other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no clue as to its source; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for information.

A senior political figure stated the vandalism left him without words and needed to be solved quickly.

"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, referring to the death of nine victims by a shooter targeting individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
